CLIFTON LOWERYI had the pleasure of getting to know Clif Lowery through the Citizens Advisory Council for Probation and Parole in Philadelphia. He and his dearly departed friend Billy Mahoney were steadfast members and passionate guiding lights - emulated and revered for their legacy of work towards justice and equality for all - as we learned at their knees the intricacies, strengths, and pitfalls of the justice system. Clif was the consummate gentleman - old school all the way. He was always gracious, always kind, always charming and generous. And always dressed to the nines - with a twinkle in his eye. You knew that, when Clif was at a meeting, he would absorb the discussion, reflect on the options, consider the bigger picture and the long run, and offer wise and insightful ideas and strategies. He dedicated his life and shared his family with the communities of Philadelphia – and used his considerable time, treasures, and talents to serve others. It was such an honor to spend time with this man - and the he has been sorely missed. by Patricia Coyne
