SANDRA LYNN JENKINS
2019 Golden Heart Award Winner

Sandra Lynn Jenkins is a Philadelphia native and passionate advocate for social justice in the city and surrounding counties.  Her commitment was ignited during grade-school when she was selected as one of a few to be bused to a nearby predominately white school.

It was there that she realized that her life was bigger than 'her', and she personally took on the responsibility of breaking prejudicial stereotypes to build cultural bridges.  Her exposure to the causes of poverty and social injustice and their impact on physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being has been a poignant catalyst for her years of advocacy.

Her first career as a flight attendant further sparked her passion to reach back and speak for those impacted by social injustices In society.

To this day, Sandra uses her platform as a Trichologist/ Natural Stylist to garner strategic connections and share ideas and opportunities that promote the progress of African-Americans and all alike.

She is a founder of MCPADE (Morehouse College Parents Association of PA & DE) and 2nd VP & Political Action Chair of Cheltenham Area NAACP.
