Grace Flanagan is currently an Associate Professor at Penn State Abington as well as Strayer University. She is the president of her company, which provides education consulting services to parents with special need children; grades K-12. Grace founded the company because she had a passion for helping children get the appropriate education to fit their specific disability. She represented many parents and was successful in negotiating with many school districts so that each child could succeed in the classroom. Two of the students she has helped are now in college and maintain honors. Previously, Grace worked for Verizon Communications in various roles such as operations manager, business administration, customer service, IT, and sales. While at Verizon she was elected to the position of President of Women at Verizon (Delaware Valley Chapter). In that role, Grace was in charge of Verizon Reads, this is the philanthropic part of Verizon (Verizon Foundation) providing books to children in impoverished areas. She also started a peer mentoring, a book club with executives and a certificate program on leadership. Grace received the Achievement of Excellence Award while at Verizon. Grace holds a Bachelor of Science and a MBA in Marketing from Saint Joseph’s University. She then went on to complete a Master in Education from Immaculata University graduating with high honors and induction into the Kappa Delta Phi, International Honor Society in Education. Grace is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, VIP Division. She compliments her profile with an inspiring agenda of philanthropic activities including the leukemia lymphoma society, Delco Gaels, and the American Cancer Society. Grace feels that determination, perseverance, and hard work are the qualities needed for success. |
