Albert J. Divalentino was born and raised in Jenkintown Borough. After his graduation from Jenkintown High School in 1971 he enlisted in the US Air Force. He was on active duty 1971-1975 in the Medical Service Corps. as a Staff Sergeant. He continued in the US Air Force Reserve for am additional three years until 1978. Chief Divalentino joined the Rockledge Police Department in 1975. In 1984 he moved on to the Jenkintown Police Department where he served as a Juvenile Officer for sixteen years. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1999 and in 2002 became Chief of Police, the position he currently holds. He considers his greatest professional accomplishment to be the accreditation of the Jenkintown Police Department in 2005. His was the third Borough in Pennsylvania to be accredited. His department is now working on the next level of accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). On a personal level, he is proud of his 39 years of marriage, two children, and especially his two grandchildren. |
