FLORETTE DORVIL
2014 Golden Heart Award Winner

Originally from Haiti, Florette Dorvil has been in the United States for the past 26 years. She is married with two children, both attending university, and also has been taking care of her two nieces since her sister died this past year.

Ms. Dorvil was graduated from Community College of Philadelphia with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She received her BSN from Immaculata University and her Masters Degree as well, specializing in healthcare and nursing education.

In addition to being Director of Nursing Education, she is a mentor for the University of Phoenix Master Degree Program and teaches Sunday School at Eben-Ezer Haitian Baptist Church in Northeast Philadelphia.
