JEFFREY BLOUNT
Jeffrey Blount is an up-and-coming photographer and this year's Robert Mendelson Memorial Award honoree for photography. He is an active volunteer for many organizations.
I am a recent graduate of Harry S Truman High School in Levittown, PA and am honored to be selected to receive this award in memory Mr. Robert Mendelsohn. My photography journey began in the beginning of my senior year of high school. It started out as just something to do and I liked it. Then photography became an everyday thing to a point where I wanted to develop it as a career. With the support of my family, community members and teachers, I started to shoot pictures at school events, community events and mainly anything sports wise in the area because I was into sports.
Towards the end of my senior year Mr. Jared Polin a known great photographer that has opened my eyes a lot more to photography, took notice in my work and donated quite a few cameras and equipment for me to upgrade my skills.
During all this time all I could do was to continue to take photos of everything around me that seems like a moment to be captured. Thank you to everyone who thought of me tonight in honoring me with this award. |
