SCHOOL OF NURSING

The School of Nursing was founded in 1898 and graduated five women in 1901. Since that time, the School has graduated over 2,000 men and women. Many of our graduates hold distinguished positions in nursing leadership, education, hospitals and other health related services.
Our hospital-based diploma program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. We offer two program options, a 16-month (over the course of two calendar years) day option and a 22-month evening-weekend option.
Through a unique blend of nursing theory, a strong clinical component, and a focus on community service, our students are extremely well prepared for their future careers as nurses. Ranking among the top nursing programs in Pennsylvania, 98.5% of graduates passed the National Council of Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) for Registered Nurses on their first attempt and 79% of the Class of 2018 completed the Program in 150% of the time. 98% of graduates that responded to our survey obtained employment within one-year post-graduation.
Hands-on clinical experience, highly-educated and experienced faculty and low student to faculty ratio in the clinical setting is the key to a quality education. With an average annual cost of $12,000, excluding required fees, Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing provides the opportunity for a quality nursing education at a reasonable cost. In addition, through a partnership with Penn State University – Abington, eligible students can obtain the BS in Nursing in as few as six months after passing the National Council of Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) for Registered Nurses.
Roxborough Memorial Hospital and the School of Nursing have great faith in our mission and commitment to the highest standards of medical and nursing excellence. We are confident that our future is as bright as our past.
