Jana Mallis Named
to NAACP
Executive Board

Maplewood Manor Director of Behavioral Health, Dr. Jana Mallis, was elected to the Executive Board of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Willow Grove Branch, on November 17. “I am proud to be nominated because I strongly believe in the Association’s mission,” said Mallis.

The NAACP is a national organization that exists to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without racial hatred or discrimination.

“It is the most organized way to fight injustice,” said Mallis of the Association. “I hope to be a part of it for the rest of my life.”

In addition to fulfilling a two-year term on the Executive Committee

and her current duties on the Police and Community Relations Committee, Dr. Mallis will direct the Association’s Health Committee.

As Director of Behavioral Health at Maplewood Manor for almost nine years, Dr. Mallis has care for the psychological well-being of the nursing home’s residents through individual and group therapy sessions, staff training sessions and interventions.

“I love my job and am thankful of how the NewCourtland Network respects the role of Behavioral Health Therapists,” said Mallis.
