Pastor Jerome F. Coleman grew up in West Philadelphia and graduated from Central High School. He went on to graduate from Millersville University with a B.S. in Business Administration.
Formerly a Parole Supervisor for the PA Board of Pro-bation and Parole, he retired in March of 2007 to pursue full-time ministry.
Pastor Coleman became Executive Minster of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in 2007. He was the author, editor, and leader of the New Discipleship classes.
He was also the director of a number of new ministries in Bethlehem including the Adopt-A-School Ministry and the Bethlehem Baptist Business Directory.
In 2002, his poem “God,” was published in “Shells upon the Seashore”, by the International Library of Poetry in their Letters from the Soul series. In 2003, the nationally recognized magazine, “The African American Pulpit” published his sermon, “Remember Who Brought You Out,” in their Seminarians issue which highlighted, “the next generation of preachers…who are doing their part to increase the stature of African American preaching.”
Pastor Coleman was called to pastor the First Baptist Church of Crestmont in Willow Grove, PA in January 2008. Pastor Coleman received his Master of Divinity from the Luther Rice Seminary in May 2008. The grace of God has allowed First Baptist to significantly multiply, mature, and a make a difference in the community, under Pastor Coleman’s leadership.
As Pastor Coleman continues to walk in faith, he is supported by his loving family. He is the proud father of two beautiful girls, Brianna, age 17, and Nia, age 13. He is also the grateful husband of the former Miss Kimberly Croston.
