While in college, Mia Carter’s initially was a Pre-Med student. In her third year, she changed her major to Nursing. She had much experience caring for loved ones before entering nursing and most recently dealt with her personal illness.
From early on in her career, Mia was determined, self-motivated, and always went above and beyond the call of duty for all those that were in her care.
Her commitment to excellence did not stop at bedside nursing. With a goal of helping others achieve excellence, Ms. Carter also devoted her time to education. She began precepting new nurses, mentoring students in nursing school, and served as a clinical instructor at a community college.
She takes great joy in both nursing and teaching – mentoring and serving as a role model while caring for patients at the same time. Ms. Carter says, “It is very rewarding to know that the care that I have provided makes a difference in someone’s life.”
