John R. Freed, Jr. is a Funeral Director in Glen-side, PA who has demonstrated extreme compassion and understanding for families of a deceased and especially serving the family of a departed infant. He deals with the death of anyone and especially an infant in a very dignified and professional manner.
Understanding that the death of an infant is an especially distressing and emotional time for the departed family members, he helps them with their burden and grief by often arranging the funeral of the deceased at little or no cost to the family. When families choose burial over cremation, Mr. Freed supplies the casket at actual cost with no charge for the professional services associated with the funeral.
He has been a Funeral Director since 1989. In addition, he has served the community as a volunteer fireman for 32 years. A graduate of North Hampton Community College, John carries on the family business that was originally founded as the Theis Funeral Home (founded 1937), changing names to the Theis-Freed Funeral Home and currently the John R. Freed Funeral Home.
John is a licensed airplane pilot as well as an avid skydiver. It is important to note that John Freed is a 32 degree Free and Accepted Mason having served as Worshipful Master of the Friendship-Williams Lodge #400 of Jenkintown, PA in1996. The lodge includes prominent Philadelphian, John Wanamaker, among it’s past and present notable members.
