Michael Smaltini

Michael Smaltini entered the field of emergency medical services after a friend suggested that it would help his pursuit of a career in law enforcement.

While working in a local psychiatric hospital as a security guard, Mike received his EMT certification from Montgomery Co. Community College. He was first on the civil service list for Police Officer inTowamencin Township in 1991.

While waiting for an opening he was hired as an EMT for the Second Alarmers of Willow Grove. He quickly rose through the ranks to be Operations Supervisor for the Career Providers and oversaw operations of the non-emergency transport service (SATS).

Mike left Second Alarmers in 1999 to accept as position as supervisor for the Volunteer Medical Service Corp. (VMSC) of Lansdale, but left in 2007 fo work in Cheltenham Twp. where he is  Assistant Chief of the EMS Department and a member of the Cheltenham Twp. Emergency Management Agency.

He served many years a volunteer EMT/Fire Fighter for the Bryn Athyn Fire Company and also continued as a volunteer with the Second Alarmers as well as a Paramedic on a per diem basis..

In addition, Mr. Smaltini is an instructor for the Montgomery Co. EMS Paramedic Program and for Montgomery County Community College’s Public Safety Training Center in Conshohocken.

Mike is an avid photographer and spends his free time raising his teen daughter, Morgan.
